What started as a playful exploration during the 2020 lockdown quickly evolved into a significant focus of my creative photographic practice. Working with dolls gave me the freedom to control the details, placement, and pacing of each scene.

Through this process, I rediscovered the role of play in art-making, using it to create fictional moments that feel both cinematic and familiar.

The scenes I created, shaped by whimsy and melancholy, soon connected me to my past—almost like a form of doll therapy.

This ongoing project explores my personal journey, inspired by poignant experiences from my adolescence, and enriched by family archives, found photographs, and personal letters. It questions the reliability of visual memory and challenges the idea that photography always offers a direct link to the past.

Memory is fluid, constantly shifting. The scenes I create with dolls reflect this, blending fiction with reality, and offering space for interpretation.

Synthetic Glamour invites viewers to reflect on their own paths of self-discovery, embracing the complexities of life and the power of art.
